110 New Modern Trolleybuses are Planned to be Launched in Yerevan
The new transport network in Yerevan plans to launch 110 new trolleybuses. This was stated by Edgar Galstyan, the acting head of the transport department of the city hall, during the parliamentary hearings titled ‘Current Issues of Road Traffic and Solutions’ organized by the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction.
“The new route network in Yerevan is expected to update 110 trolleybuses, with modern trolleybuses planned. The trolleybus network will be maintained and developed,” assured Galstyan.
Addressing the issue of air pollution in the capital, he noted that it is a problem even in developed countries, and the solutions are numerous and diverse.
The project for Yerevan's transport network and its financial model were developed and approved by the government last year. Mayor Haik Marutyan had promised to transition the plan from paper to implementation since 2020.
