The Preventive Measure Selected Against Serzh Sargsyan Will Not Be Lifted
The preventive measure selected against the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, regarding his departure from the country will not be lifted. The Yerevan city court of general jurisdiction today rejected the motion of Sargsyan's lawyers to lift the preventive measure that prohibits him from leaving the country, as well as their request to obligate the pre-trial body to rectify the violations of S. Sargsyan's rights and freedoms, in their assessment.
This was stated by Gohar Abrahamyan, advisor to the Armenian Attorney General, in response to a question from HJ.
Serzh Sargsyan is accused of organizing the embezzlement of nearly half a billion drams from the state budget.
