Group of Specialists Sent to Tehran for Airport Monitoring: Ministry of Health

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, made a statement on his Facebook page.

“According to the government decision that came into force yesterday restricting border crossings between Iran and Armenia, all trucks arriving from the Meghri checkpoint are moving within the territory of Armenia under the escort of our specialists and the police. Monitoring is being established over Iranian citizen drivers throughout Armenia, including in customs warehouses of the State Revenue Committee, until their return. Monitoring over Armenian citizen drivers is also being established based on their place of residence.

Today, to properly monitor the passengers returning from Iran by plane, at my instruction, a specialist from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Armenian Ministry of Health has been sent to Tehran. He will check the well-being of the passengers at the time of boarding the aircraft, instruct them on the use of protective measures, and transfer information to us so that appropriate monitoring measures can be implemented in Yerevan. In the absence of complaints, home monitoring will be established for the passengers, while those with complaints will be tested and hospitalized if necessary.

At the airport, following my instructions, the work is being coordinated by my deputy, Shavarsh Grigoryan.”
