Contributions to the Campaign Fund Should Not Exceed 100 Million Drams: Will 105 Million Be Transferred to the Budget?
Daniel Ioannisyan, the head of the Civic Solidarity Platform NGO, made a post on his Facebook page addressing the 205 million 560 thousand drams raised during the fundraising evening carried out by the 'Yes' campaign for the constitutional referendum. The post reads:
'The fundraising for the 'Yes' campaign collected 205 million drams. Article 20 of the law on referendums stipulates: 'The total amount of contributions made to the campaign financing fund shall not exceed 100,000 times the minimum wage (100 million drams). ... Contributions exceeding the amount specified in part 1 of this article shall be transferred to the state budget.'
Now the question arises: will 105 million of the collected 205 million be transferred to the state budget?
UPDATE: No, it will not be transferred, since, formally, the fundraising was carried out not by the 'Yes' campaign, but by the Civil Contract party. Here we return again to the issue of shortcomings in the regulations on the financing of election (and referendum) campaigns that have been discussed for over 10 years.'
It should be noted that during the fundraising evening for the 'Yes' campaign on the constitutional amendments, a total of 205 million 560 thousand drams was collected.
