We Are Definitely Not Guilty for the Numerous Corruption Cases: Badassian on Serzh Sargsyan's Criminal Case

Any criminal case of a corruption nature against a former official is initiated and examined with all arguments always being the same. This was mentioned today by Minister of Justice Rustam Badassian during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly, in regards to the criminal case initiated against Serzh Sargsyan and the statement made by the Republican Party of Armenia that it is a fabricated process based on the testimony of one person.

“You can even change the names in the texts, the rest of the words remain the same. This means that it is said to be political persecution, and so on. The current authorities are not at fault for the numerous corruption cases that have occurred, and today the entire law enforcement system is engaged in investigating criminal cases of a corruption nature. We are definitely not guilty. Even now, cases are being initiated and investigated against current officials, thus there can be no talk of political persecution,” said the minister.

When asked whether it is not pressure that supporters of Serzh Sargsyan have gathered in front of the court and are conducting a rally, Badassian replied: “That depends on the form, nature of the rally, and other circumstances.”
