Panic Among the Population Regarding Coronavirus is Much Greater Than It Should Be: Narek Zeynalyan
There is a certain degree of panic among the population, and I understand that, but the panic is much greater than it should be. This was stated by Narek Zeynalyan, the Chairman of the Health and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, during a conversation with journalists today.
“At this moment, there are no recorded cases in Armenia. Daily analysis of the data is being conducted. If necessary, the border will remain closed; if not, it will be opened,” he said.
Addressing the lack of masks in pharmacies, Zeynalyan noted that this is due to baseless panic, as people are trying to stockpile as many masks as possible. “This is absolutely pointless; a mask does not guarantee 100 percent protection from infection. All possible scenarios are currently being discussed. Even if an infected person is found in Armenia, there is a scheme for how and where the individual will be isolated,” he added.
