Nafthalinot Askerov Publishes Azerbaijani 'Version' of Sumgait in 'Nezavisimoe Gazeta'

Member of the parliament from the Prosperous Armenia Party, Naira Zohrabyan, made a post on her Facebook page titled "Hichkokyan Forces: With Azerbaijani Mugham," responding to an article published in "Nezavisimoe Gazeta," in which the author presents a distorted Azerbaijani version of the Sumgait tragedy. Below is her post:

"Today, a certain Nafthalinot Askerov published the Azerbaijani 'version' of the Sumgait tragedy in 'Nezavisimoe Gazeta,' from where this time not the scent of high-quality Caspian oil came, but that of cheap kerosene. According to Azerbaijani propaganda, the Armenians organized Sumgait, cut and raped the Azerbaijanis, and on the night of the tragedy, the bodies of Azerbaijanis tortured by Armenians were in the refrigerator of the Yerevan-Baku train. As you can understand, under the Azerbaijani mugham, Hichkokyan forces reign!

I have seen and heard how Azerbaijan took the theme of the melting of the Northern Arctic Ocean and charmingly linked it with the Karabakh issue. I was also present at the transformation where the theme of composer Schubert was grotesquely distorted regarding the Karabakh issue. At least the Azerbaijani propaganda's jangle has long ceased to surprise me. However, I am still astonished. I am astonished that real facts regarding the Sumgait tragedy published in 'Nezavisimoe Gazeta' are overshadowed by dirty disinformation soaked in Azerbaijani cheap kerosene, with no whisper or murmur from any of our institutions, primarily from the Foreign Ministry.

Tomorrow, I assure you, this disinformation will take on flesh and blood, it will soar in the European Parliaments, and afterwards, as always, we will heroically begin to overcome it. Because heroic overcoming is simply classic for us," wrote Naira Zohrabyan.
