Dear compatriots, do you remember that while holding the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, I published my vision that Armenia should be a high-tech, industrial country with an economy focused on exports? Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.
“Now, according to the results of 2019:
- The manufacturing sector has grown by 12%, becoming the leading industry with a 12.1% share of GDP. Please note, mining is not included in this figure; it concerns only the manufacturing industry.
- The export of goods and services from Armenia has increased by 10.3% according to the results of 2019. Moreover, the export of medium-tech goods has increased by 26.9%, while the export of high-tech goods has increased by 13.5%.
- Tourism, which is also considered an export since foreign citizens benefit from it, has grown by 14.7%, and as a result, the fastest-growing sector of the economy has been the accommodation and public catering services sector, which grew by 27.2% compared to 2018,” the Prime Minister wrote.
