Arsen Babayan Addresses Reports of 5000 Dram Bribes Distributed by the 'No' Campaign Headquarters
Krist Hovsepyan, the president of the NGO 'My Defender', raised an alarm on his Facebook page, alleging that the 'No' campaign headquarters is offering people bribes of 5000 drams.
“Urgent information: Dear Suren Papikyan, already at the start of the campaign, individuals representing the 'No' campaign headquarters are attempting to target pensioners in the southwestern neighborhoods by offering them 5000 drams so that they do not participate in the referendum. The Serzh Sargsyan clan is trying to undermine the foundations of our statehood in its characteristic style, I ask you to be more vigilant. Thank you in advance,” Hovsepyan wrote.
Arsen Babayan, one of the initiators of the 'No' campaign, responded to the post, specifically stating: “I urge the Prosecutor General of Armenia to accept this statement as a report of a crime and to take urgent and necessary measures in accordance with the criminal procedural law to reveal the apparent crime and hold the involved individuals accountable.” Babayan also addressed Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, requesting that this information be conveyed to the Prosecutor General and that the public be informed about the results of the investigation.
