Armenians in Italy Urged to Share Their Stay Period and Contact Information

Due to a sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in Italy, Armenian citizens currently in Italy or planning to visit are urged to contact the Armenian Embassy in Italy, providing the duration of their stay and contact details, according to the Armenian Embassy in Italy.

“We advise Armenian citizens in Italy to avoid visiting the quarantine-affected areas in Lombardy, including Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo, and San Fiorano, as well as the Veneto community of Vo’ Euganeo, and generally to refrain from being in crowded places in the northern regions,” the statement reads.

The health authorities also recommend following the instructions of the Ministry of Health of Armenia and the relevant Italian authorities. The Italian government has developed the following guidelines to combat the new coronavirus:

  • Wash hands frequently
  • Avoid close contact with people showing symptoms of acute respiratory infections
  • Do not take antiviral drugs or antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription
  • Use a mask only if you suspect an infection or when caring for an infected person

Officially updated information can be obtained from the official website of the Civil Protection Service in Italy.
