COVID-19 Reaches Afghanistan: Land and Air Border with Iran Closed

The first case of COVID-19 infection has been recorded in Afghanistan, according to Afghan media. Health Minister Firuzuddin Firuz confirmed that the first case of COVID-19 was detected in the northwestern region, specifically in Herat province, where a state of emergency has already been declared.

The National Security Administration has ordered the suspension of land and air communication with neighboring Iran from Herat.
