11 Cases of Illegal Fishing Recorded, Causing Damage of 507,500 AMD

Inspections and administrative proceedings conducted by the Environmental and Mining Inspectorate have revealed a total of 48 violations, with 37 cases resulting in an estimated damage of 4,496,340 AMD to the environment. Administrative fines have been imposed in 13 cases, amounting to 1,500,000 AMD.

In the field of plant protection, 33 cases were recorded, with 25 resulting in environmental damage of 3,441,840 AMD and 9 leading to fines totaling 1,100,000 AMD. In Lori, one case of illegal logging was recorded, involving 3 poplars, 3 willows, and 1 wild pear, resulting in damage of 96,000 AMD to the environment. Previously recorded cases of illegal logging resulted in a fine of 100,000 AMD, and 3 cases of illegal transportation of timber incurred a fine of 300,000 AMD.

In Tavush, out of 19 cases of illegal transportation of timber (20.65 cubic meters of firewood, 11.28 cubic meters of waste firewood), 17 cases led to environmental damage of 805,640 AMD, while 3 cases resulted in fines of 400,000 AMD. Four cases of illegal logging (9 silver birches, 11 maples, 1 pine, 1 oak) resulted in environmental damage of 2,485,000 AMD. Additionally, previously recorded illegal transportation of timber cases resulted in damage of 55,200 AMD and fines in 2 cases amounting to 300,000 AMD.

In the field of wildlife protection, 11 cases were registered, with 10 leading to environmental damage of 507,500 AMD and 1 resulting in a fine of 50,000 AMD. In Gegharkunik, 5 cases (141 fish, totaling 41.9 kg of bream, and 42 polyethylene nets) accounted for environmental damage of 209,500 AMD. A previously recorded case of illegal fishing resulted in a fine of 50,000 AMD.

In Kotayk, one case (39 fish, totaling 11 kg of bream) incurred environmental damage of 55,000 AMD. In Yerevan, 2 cases (63 fish, totaling 29.4 kg of bream) accounted for environmental damage of 147,000 AMD. In Tavush, one case (30 fish, totaling 12.2 kg of bream) resulted in damage of 61,000 AMD. In Aragatsotn, a previously recorded case of illegal fish sales resulted in damage of 35,000 AMD.

Regarding atmospheric air and water protection, waste disposal, and land use and preservation, 2 cases were recorded. In Lori, two instances of topsoil degradation resulted in environmental damage of 547,000 AMD, and one case incurred a fine of 50,000 AMD. Two inspections were summarized during this period. In Ararat, an inspection at 'Levon Asatryan' LLC resulted in a fine of 100,000 AMD. In Lori, an inspection previously conducted at Veolia Water LLC led to a fine of 200,000 AMD.

During the reported period, a total of 1,296,700 AMD was collected in the state budget of the Republic of Armenia.
