VIDEO: Illegal Timber Concealed with Hay Bags in Dilijan

On February 19, officers from the Dilijan police department, in collaboration with road police and the environmental and natural resources inspection agency's Tavush regional department, conducted a check at a stationary post in the Dilijan mountain passes. They inspected a "GAZ-52-04" vehicle loaded with timber belonging to a 39-year-old resident of the Achajur village.

The firewood was concealed under 80 bags of hay. The driver did not provide any documentation to prove the legality of the timber and claimed that he obtained the firewood from a forest near their village on February 10.

The vehicle, along with the timber, has been moved to a designated storage area of the department. Investigations are ongoing, and materials are being prepared regarding the matter.
