Blocked and Difficult Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced that as of 18:25, there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn province will remain closed for an indefinite period. The Vardenyat pass is closed for trucks and difficult for other vehicles to navigate. The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult for trucks.

Snowfall has been reported in the Vardenyat pass, in the area known as 'Meghri Mountain' in the Syunik region, in the towns of Chambarak, Martuni, Vardenis in Gegharkunik province, and in the towns of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor, as well as in Aragatsotn and in the Tigranashen curves in Ararat province.

It is foggy in the area known as 'Meghri Mountain' and in the town of Goris in Syunik province.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia in the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles but closed for trucks. Information from the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia indicates that there are currently 335 trucks accumulated on the Russian side.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
