A Call Full of Tears from a Maralik Maternity Hospital Employee: MP
MP Sofya Hovsepyan from the ‘My Step’ faction of the National Assembly wrote on her Facebook page: “Yesterday, I received a call. A Maralik maternity hospital employee called me in tears. 'Madam Hovsepyan, this Gayane Avagyan will do everything to shut down the maternity hospital, she is fabricating all sorts of lies, even though the issue is right in front of her, she claims it doesn't exist.' I am clarifying the issue with several people and confirm the negative attitude of that woman. I call Gayane Avagyan in response to my question, and the first thing I hear is about a light bulb in the operating room that wasn't working. She starts with that, and I immediately freeze and can no longer calmly speak.
I have heard quite a few things about this woman regarding her impolite attitude, dry approaches, and 'scab-like' demeanor, and this is not the first time I understand that this behavior is common among some employees of the Ministry of Health. She starts introducing herself in a way that matches her character, and the most ridiculous part is that they were asking for requirements outside the standards they had sent (this time it was changed), which don’t even exist in maternity hospitals in Yerevan, including their very beloved division in Shirak province.
As far as I understand, they are trying to create problems, but because I can’t imagine this issue being anything but public, let me inform you that both the Maralik and Gyumri maternity hospitals will continue to operate. You will achieve nothing by terrorizing people; I say this as an elected representative of the region who has earned the people's vote.
Yesterday, I sent a letter to the ministry to receive official documentation, and I hope for a sensible response. Learn to speak to people civilly, or else my attitude will change further. Everything can be done humanely by choosing reasonable words and attitudes, but no, everyone feels entitled to yell at others. Don’t give me moralizing speeches here, don’t preach to me; I have two myself and in case of need, I can help you to get them.”
