20-Year-Old's Tooth Root Discovered in Sinus Cavity

The St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center reports that a 20-year-old man sought help from the ENT department due to frequent purulent nasal discharge and unbearable headaches. He also experienced general weakness, describing that he had been in this condition for the past few years.

A CT scan revealed a large tooth root within the sinus cavity. The patient recounted that he had had a tooth extraction years ago and did not suspect that the cause of his health complaints was the root of the removed tooth, which had ended up in the sinus cavity.

Surgery was performed, specifically a left-sided sinusotomy, to remove the foreign body. Following the operation, the young man feels well, and his previous health issues have resolved.
