Yemen's Defense Minister's Vehicle Targeted in Assassination Attempt

On February 19, an assassination attempt was made against Yemen's Defense Minister, Muhammad Ali al-Maqdashi, who is part of the internationally recognized government. His vehicle was detonated by an explosive device, but the official was unharmed.

This information was reported on Twitter by Mukhtar al-Rahbi, an adviser to the Yemeni Minister of Information.

“The Yemeni Defense Minister survived an assassination attempt during his journey on the eastern front, when his vehicle was blown up. There are fatalities and injuries among those accompanying him,” al-Rahbi noted.
