Former Officials' Contributions to the State Budget Revealed

The newspaper 'Zhoghovourd' reports: Since 2018, as a result of the fight against corruption, a total of $105 million has been returned to the state budget. This is an official statement.

But who and how much has been returned to the state budget? Former head of security for Serzh Sargsyan, Vachagan Ghazaryan, and his wife restored 2.8 billion drams to the state budget, while former Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan returned around 1 billion drams. Serzh Sargsyan's brother, Alexander Sargsyan, has compensated the state with $18.5 million. Alexander Sargsyan also compensated the damage caused to the state by Vladimir Gasparyan and others, amounting to 54 million drams.

Former president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Manvel Grigoryan, donated approximately 330 hectares of land belonging to his company 'Aknalich Duck Farm' in the Aknalich community to the state. This includes buildings with a total area of 5,445 square meters. The market value of the territory donated by Manvel Grigoryan is estimated at 5.084 billion drams, which is more than $10.5 million. Former mayor of Hrazdan, Aram Danielyan, compensated the state with 102 million drams, and, for instance, the family of former customs chief Armen Avetisyan donated land to the state following a criminal case. However, a buyer has not yet been found for the site of the 'Golden Palace' hotel.

It should be added that this is not the final picture and more allocations may occur in the near future.
