Joghourt: All Mayors Will Engage in the 'Yes' Campaign, Except One
«Joghourt» newspaper reports: Details have emerged from a closed meeting between the 'My Step' faction of the National Assembly and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Specifically, the meeting was initiated by Pashinyan, who wanted to discuss the campaign for the constitutional referendum that officially started yesterday.
According to our information, the main topic of discussion was the course of the campaign, including the formation of headquarters, the individuals conducting the campaign, and the strategies to promote the 'Yes' vote. It was known that the main actors would be Suren Papikyan, Sipan Pashinyan, and Hakob Simidyan, but it was revealed that regional governors and heads of administrative districts would also be actively involved in the campaign.
During the meeting, Nikol Pashinyan stated that he would also participate in the campaign, and the specific schedule and format would be clarified, urging for active preparations.
Notably, all heads of administrative districts will engage in the campaign, except for David Karapetyan, the head of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, who has been barred from participating. It is worth mentioning that David Karapetyan is the grandson of the aunt of former Yerevan Deputy Mayor Hayk Sargsyan, and he refers to Sargsyan as 'uncle.' This particular circumstance seems to be the reason for Karapetyan's exclusion from the referendum activities.
