Commander of the Yezidi Defense Forces Killed in Turkish Airstrikes
Karen Hovhannisyan writes on his Facebook page: "I regret to inform that five members of the Yezidi Defense Forces, including commander Ziradasht Shingyal (Qalaf Ba'fir Murad Saadoon), were killed in Turkish airstrikes. The commander’s brother, Ayman Saadoon, was also among the victims. The incident occurred near the village of Sinune, close to the border between Iraq and Syria. Sinune is located in a region known for its conflict between Iraqi Kurdistan and Iraq. I would like to note that Ziradasht Shingyal played a significant role in protecting the Yezidis from ISIS. I extend my condolences to the Yezidi brethren."
