Arsen Julfalakyan Will Not Compete in Tokyo 2020 Olympics

The Armenian Wrestling Federation has made an official statement today.

"As it is known, the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team currently has 2 spots for Tokyo 2020. According to the decision of the coaching council, Karapet Chalyan in the 77 kg weight category and Arthur Aleksanyan in the 97 kg weight category will prepare for the 32nd Summer Olympic Games," the statement reads.

Thus, specialists have prioritized Karapet Chalyan in the 77 kg weight category, while the former world champion Arsen Julfalakyan, who was also preparing for the Olympics, will unfortunately have to miss the year's main competition.
