Video: Farewell Ceremony for Photographer German Avagyan Held

Today, February 17, at the Saint Sarkiss Church in the Nor Nork 5th neighborhood of Yerevan, a farewell ceremony was held for the photographer, documentarian, and journalist German Avagyan. Many political and cultural figures, intellectuals, and journalists attended the ceremony to pay their last respects, including Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, as reported by news.am.

“He was always attentive to people. The heroes he photographed were not left alone; he formed friendships with them. He was genuinely interested in their future destinies, as if giving a piece of his heart to that person. He was a fantastic photographer. First, he befriended them, and then they became his photographic subjects,” said Ara Shirinyan, chairman of the Public Television and Radio Company, to reporters.

Friends remember the suddenly deceased photographer with sorrow, emphasizing the need to preserve his photographic legacy.
