Armed Robbery in Vanadzor: Individual Entrepreneur's Home Looted of Gold Jewelry and Cash
On February 14, a significant theft occurred in the Lori region. Aristakes Alekyan, a 52-year-old resident of Isahakyan Street in Vanadzor, reported to the police that on February 13, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, an unidentified individual or individuals gained entry into his home by unlocking the entrance door with a fitting key.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, an operational group from the Bazum police station arrived at the crime scene, led by station chief Mamikon Hakobyan. A team from the Lori regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee also arrived, headed by senior investigator Poghosyan.
Alekyan informed law enforcement that a non-flammable safe within his bedroom contained gold jewelry valued at approximately $20,000 and about $2,000 in cash. A criminal case has been initiated by the Lori regional investigative department regarding the incident. According to G. Shamsyan’s sources, Alekyan is known as an individual entrepreneur in Vanadzor.
