Recovered from Coronavirus in Shanghai Decide to Donate Blood
On February 14, 28 individuals were discharged from hospitals in Shanghai, China after recovering from the coronavirus. Six of them expressed their desire to voluntarily donate blood for other patients. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
It was previously announced that Chinese doctors have developed an effective treatment method for pneumonia caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus. Patients have started receiving plasma transfusions from donors who have recovered from the disease. This method has allowed the recovery of more than ten patients in critical condition, with improvement observed within 12 to 24 hours after treatment.
The blood of those recovering has been found to contain a significant amount of antibodies effective in fighting the coronavirus.
