‘Zhamanak’: The Dismissed Police Officer Gathered Ijevan Police and Insulted Them Publicly
‘Zhamanak’ newspaper reports: ‘According to our information, recently, a member of the Police Internal Security Department, Sargis Davtyan, gathered the police officers of the Tavush province, specifically those of Ijevan, and during the meeting, publicly insulted and offended the present police officers, accusing them of ignoring other cases while pursuing those cutting down the forests of Ijevan.
This incident has caused significant dissatisfaction and outrage among those present. It is noteworthy that Sargis Davtyan is the son of Mihran Davtyan, the head of the department combating economic crimes within the Police's main division against organized crime, who was recently removed from the system.
Incidentally, despite Mihran Davtyan being removed from the system by acting police chief Arman Sargsyan on the day of his appointment, Davtyan continues to boast that ‘there is no game against him.’ He persists in driving around in police gold license plates. After his dismissal, he emigrated to the United States for a while, where he holds business interests, but is currently in Armenia and is involved in the shadow management of the police.
This incident best illustrates that police reforms are a necessity, and moreover, they are overdue.’ For more details, refer to today’s issue of the newspaper.
