VIDEO: Indonesia's Most Active Volcano Erupts
Mount Merapi, located on the island of Java in central Indonesia, has erupted, releasing a column of smoke and ash reaching three kilometers into the sky. The volcano emitted a plume of smoke and ash at an altitude of 2,000 meters.
The eruption in 2010 resulted in the deaths of at least 340 people, and more than 60,000 individuals were forced to evacuate their homes.
