VIDEO: Former Police Official Embezzles Over 46 Million Drams
In the framework of materials preparation at the Department for the Fight Against Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Main Directorate of Criminal Police, factual data regarding the wrongdoings of the former head of the Police Protection Service of Armavir, a retired colonel who currently works at the Internal Security Department of the State Revenue Committee, has been obtained through investigative measures.
Specifically, it has been established that between 2013 and 2018, he had entered into verbal agreements with several clients regarding the contracts for the provision of security services with various businesses and individuals, directing one of his subordinates to collect cash from these businesses.
Additionally, he instructed the accountant of the division to include false information in reports and to prepare forged documents. As a result of these illegal actions, an embezzlement of particularly large amounts amounting to 46 million 455 thousand drams has occurred.
The former head of the Armavir Protection Division has been taken to the Main Directorate of Criminal Police and arrested. The criminal case opened has been sent to the Special Investigative Service.
