Vehicles Under Investigation Found in Yerevan
On the night of February 12, the traffic police's patrol division and accompanying special unit personnel conducted intensified service operations in the capital. Prior to this, the officers were briefed. Deputy Chief of Police Hayk Mhrjan and Chief of the Traffic Police Egor Karapetyan instructed the personnel to respond strictly to any traffic violation.
Alongside firmness, they were to act correctly and respectfully, operating solely within the legal framework of their authority. During the enhanced service operation, five vehicles were moved to a designated area; two of them had expired license plates, two drivers did not possess a driver's license, and one vehicle had beacon lights installed without proper authorization.
Additionally, two vehicles under investigation were identified and taken to the enforcement service for judicial acts. Eleven vehicles were found operating without a mandatory insurance contract and nine were using tinted windshields. The intensified operations conducted by the traffic police, concerned about road safety, will be periodic.
