Scientists Determine How Long Coronavirus Lives on Surfaces

German scientists have summarized all available information in their research regarding the stability of human and animal coronaviruses on surfaces, as well as strategies for their deactivation through chemical disinfection methods in public places and medical facilities.

An analysis of 22 studies has shown that human coronaviruses, such as the SARS coronavirus, the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS), or human endemic coronaviruses (HCoV), can survive on surfaces like metal, glass, or plastic at room temperature for up to 9 days, as reported by RIA Novosti.
