Roads to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn Province to Remain Closed Indefinitely
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 13, at 20:00, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads across the territory of Armenia. The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite period.
The Vardenyats Pass is also closed. The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult for heavy vehicles, and the roads from the Sevan Peninsula to Tsovagyugh village, as well as those in the regions of Amasia and Ashotsk in Shirak Province, are impassable.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik provinces, as well as on the roads from Kuchak to Aparan and the roads in the village of Tsakhkashat in Aragatsotn Province.
In Ararat, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Shirak provinces, and in the regions of Talin and Ashtarak in Aragatsotn, snow has fallen in the Vardenis, Chambarak regions of Gegharkunik, in the winding areas of Spitak in Lori, on the Sotk-Karvachar road, and in the areas of Saravan-Zanger, Kajaran, and Mehru Mountain.
According to information received from the Emergencies Ministries of Georgia and the North Ossetia crisis management center in the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for trucks with trailers. There are over 1,000 heavy trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
