Large Quantities of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Discovered
On February 11, 2020, at 17:50, a resident of Artashat was taken to the Erebuni Police Department on suspicion of illegally acquiring, possessing, and selling drugs near the intersection of Artsakh and Arin Berd streets in Yerevan. He was driving a Mitsubishi vehicle. During a personal search, 100 pills marked 'PHZER PGH 300' and a folding knife were found in a polyethylene packet he was holding. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee.
According to the expert's conclusion, the white powdery substances in the 100 pills tested contain the psychotropic substance known as 'Pregabalin.'
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code (Illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors with the purpose of sale or production or illegal sale of them). The resident of Artashat has been arrested on suspicion of illegally acquiring and selling the psychotropic substance 'Pregabalin.'
Extensive and urgent investigative and procedural actions are underway to clarify the source of acquisition of the mentioned pills. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
