‘Fact’. Under Pashinyan's Directive, the Issue of Hydroelectric Power Plants is in Focus
‘Fact’ newspaper reports: According to information from the ‘Fact’ newspaper, the government has recently started paying special attention to the issue of hydroelectric power plants (HPPs).
Notably, our sources have relayed information that during a recent discussion, a list of HPPs located in the Republic was presented to the Prime Minister, along with the issues related to them. We have learned that Nikol Pashinyan has instructed the relevant agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into every detail related to the HPPs.
Specifically, a comprehensive study must be conducted to identify ownership of each HPP and provide a summary overview. According to the same sources, this issue is set to become increasingly pivotal in the coming months; moreover, the authorities intend to closely monitor the operation of HPPs to reduce, and in some cases entirely prohibit, water extraction in the upcoming season.
Information reaching us indicates that the primary targets are representatives of previous governments who own HPPs. Attention is also focused on certain representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, who have been significantly involved in this business.
