VIDEO: Enter Military Units Day and Night, See Who is Responsible for Criminal Hideouts, Davtyan

During a consultation summarizing the results of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia for 2019, the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Artur Davtyan, addressed cases of death during military service.

“Behind each of these figures is a human life, the life of a soldier. The state bears 100 percent responsibility for their health and life during military service,” Artur Davtyan stated, also addressing the issue of eliminating non-statutory relations and phenomena characteristic of criminal subcultures in the Armed Forces.

“We should not only look at off-duty hours or the informal aspects of our powers. You must enter military units and barracks day and night to ensure whether such behaviors exist and who are the main culprits responsible for these hideouts at that moment. Raise the issue before the command staff, transfer them, relocate them to other places, and take disciplinary measures in that direction,” said the prosecutor, adding that it is unacceptable to allow such phenomena to exist in our army.
