Video: 44-Year-Old Man Volunteers to Surrender Pistol Found While Fishing in Hrazdan River
As a result of explanatory work carried out by the officers of the Nor Nork Avan Police Division, a 77-year-old man reported that there was a weapon and ammunition in his garage. An operational group that arrived at the scene discovered a Kalashnikov assault rifle and various calibers of ammunition. According to the man, the rifle and the ammunition belonged to his deceased son.
A case of voluntary surrender of a Kalashnikov assault rifle was also recorded at the Vayk Police Division. The rifle, along with over 100 rounds of 5.6 mm caliber ammunition and magazines, was surrendered by a 59-year-old resident of the village of Zaritap. He stated that the weapon and ammunition were his, acquired years ago, and stored on the roof of his house.
Thanks to explanatory work carried out by officers from the Internal Security Department of the Police, on February 10, a 44-year-old resident of Yerevan voluntarily surrendered a revolver found while fishing in the Hrazdan River to the Arabkir Division.
On the same note, due to the explanatory work of the patrol officers of the Hrazdan Division, a 45-year-old resident of the village of Jrarat voluntarily surrendered a 1916-manufactured Mosin rifle, a grenade, over 20 rounds, and a magazine. He reported that the weapon and ammunition had been acquired years ago and were stored in his basement.
A 41-year-old resident of the village of Vardanashen voluntarily surrendered a double-barreled hunting rifle, a detonator, over 20 rounds of ammunition, and an ammunition belt that he found while cleaning his barn. He indicated that the weapon and ammunition belonged to his deceased father.
On February 11, due to the work of the patrol officers of the Baghramyan Division, a 34-year-old resident from the village of Baghramyan came in and voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered rifle that belonged to his deceased father, along with a magazine and 130 rounds of various calibers of ammunition.
A 47-year-old resident of Dilijan also voluntarily surrendered a double-barreled rifle designed to fire 5.6 mm caliber ammunition, along with over 20 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber ammunition to the Dilijan Division. He stated that the weapon and ammunition belonged to his deceased grandfather.
A resident of Aparan voluntarily turned in a grenade found on his roof, a grenade detonator, over 30 rounds of a submachine gun, and a submachine gun magazine. According to him, they belonged to his deceased father.
A 34-year-old resident of Shirakavan village also voluntarily surrendered a shortened shotgun designed to fire 12 mm caliber rounds and 7 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber ammunition to the Ani Division. The man reported that the weapon and ammunition belonged to his grandfather who had passed away years ago.
Forensic examinations have been appointed. It is worth mentioning that individuals who voluntarily surrender illegally held weapons and ammunition are exempt from criminal liability.
