As of 23:15, There Are Snowstorms and Black Ice on the Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 12 at 23:15, there are closed and difficult road conditions throughout the Republic of Armenia.

The roads that are closed include the Sisian-Goris road in the Syunik region, the road to Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lich in Aragatsotn region, the Sotk-Karabakh road, and the Vardenyats and Jambarak passes.

The roads that are difficult to pass include the road from the Sevan Peninsula to the village of Tsovagyugh and the roads in the Amasia region of Shirak.

There are snowstorms present in the city of Goris, the village of Ishkhanasar in the Syunik region, and the village of Tsovagyugh in Gegharkunik, as well as on the Sotk-Karabakh road, and at Vardenyats and Jambarak passes.

Black ice can be found in places on the roads of Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, and Shirak regions, as well as on rural roads in the Aragatsotn region connecting Aparan and Aragats.

Snowfall is reported in the stretch from Saravan to “Zanger” in Aragatsotn and Kotayk regions, in the villages of Ararat and Tigranashen of Ararat region, in the city of Gyumri in Shirak, and in the Amasia, Ashotsk, and Akhuryan regions, as well as in the cities of Goris and Spitak in Syunik, and in Vayk and Yeghegnadzor of Vayots Dzor region.

Regarding the Lars situation, information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation’s North Ossetia reports that the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. According to the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation, there are over 1,000 heavy vehicles accumulated on the Russian side.
