VIDEO. No need for anyone to text me before my speech. Alen Simonyan
There is no SMS that I have recorded and used in my speech, and there cannot be one. This statement was made by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a press briefing today, February 11, addressing the claim by the leader of the LHK, Edmon Marukyan, who stated that when he criticized Nikol Pashinyan from the podium of the National Assembly, the latter sent an SMS to Alen Simonyan to respond to him.
“My speech on behalf of the faction was registered before Mr. Marukyan's speech. Therefore, he is confusing his working style with our working style. We do not have such a working style. I have known Mr. Pashinyan for a long time; our mindset and our conversation coincide on many issues, and there is no need for anyone to text Alen Simonyan before my speech,” stated Alen Simonyan.
With regard to the BHK's decision to adopt a neutral position and not join “Luminar Armenia's” desire to appeal to the Constitutional Court, the Deputy Speaker noted: “Because the BHK probably feels more confident, is not in a state of torment like Mr. Marukyan. Mr. Marukyan is in a state of confusion.” In response to the question about which members of the Constitutional Court have visited the Speaker of the National Assembly, he said he was unaware: “I am not aware, but I believe that all state officials can meet each other. I can also go to the Constitutional Court if someone invites me. These are institutions, not individuals.”
