Two Citizens Detained for Border Regime Violation

On February 10, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Lori province. Around 08:20, officers of the National Security Service's border troops discovered and detained a 25-year-old resident of Lori, David M., for violating the border regime, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to the source, it was discovered that while crossing through the "Paghabyur" border checkpoint area, David M. was in possession of a double-barreled hunting rifle, as well as a magazine containing 24 rounds of 16 mm caliber ammunition. The source also noted that David M. informed law enforcement that the rifle belonged to his deceased grandfather. The rifle was confiscated by the investigator of the Tarnator Police Department, with a forensic examination scheduled.

Additionally, the news outlet reported that yesterday, in the same area, the NSS border troops discovered and detained another resident of Lori, a 21-year-old named Hovhannes K., for the same violation of the border regime. He was found to possess a double-barreled hunting rifle and a magazine containing 21 rounds of 12 mm caliber ammunition. Hovhannes K. also stated that the rifle belonged to his deceased grandfather. This rifle was also confiscated by the investigator, and a forensic examination has been scheduled.

Both David M. and Hovhannes K. did not present any documents verifying the legality of their firearms.
