Those Who Killed Turkish Diplomat in Erbil Sentenced to Death
A death sentence has been issued for two defendants in the case of the murder of a Turkish diplomat and two Iraqi citizens. The murder occurred in July 2019 in the city of Erbil, the center of the Kurdistan autonomous region in northern Iraq, as reported by ermenihaber.
During a court session at the Second Criminal Court of Erbil, a verdict was delivered regarding six defendants. Two of them were sentenced to death, one received a one-year prison term, and the remaining three were sentenced to two years in prison each.
It is worth noting that the Turkish consulate staff member, Osman Koysen, and two Iraqi citizens were killed in an armed attack at one of Erbil's restaurants in July 2019.
