Stabbing Incident Occurs Over Failure to Yield
On February 10, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Masis Police, led by Department Head Armen Khachatryan, acted on operational information and uncovered a stabbing incident that occurred on February 6 in the Ararat region.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, on that day at 21:00, the Masis Police received a call from the Erebuni Medical Center stating that a citizen had been admitted with "cut and stab wounds to the right gluteal region, the lumbar region, and the left dorsal surfaces of the chest."
Within just a few days, police in Masis detained 22-year-old Hayk M., a resident of Nor Kharberd, on suspicion of committing the said crime. Under pressure from the evidence, he confessed that on February 6, a disagreement over failure to yield occurred between him and Rafik P. on 31st Street in Nor Kharberd, during which he stabbed Rafik P. with a knife he had on him. Police also discovered blood-like traces at the scene.
