Four Soldiers Trapped Under Avalanche During Combat Duty, Details Revealed

On February 7, four contract soldiers were trapped under an avalanche in the N military unit's protection area in the Syunik region, three of whom have died. At the time of the incident, they were in a trench, on combat duty. For reasons that are still unknown, a thick layer of snow collapsed into the trench.

Earlier, it was reported that as part of the rescue operation, the bodies of the contract soldiers were discovered: Private Karapet Sedrak Nazaryan (born in 1991, had been in the armed forces since 2018, from Kashatagh), Junior Sergeant Tigran Armen Arzumanyan (born in 1994, had been in the armed forces since 2018, from Syunik), and Junior Sergeant Nver Tigran Shahbazyan (born in 1995, had been in the armed forces since 2018, from Syunik).

Private Hamlet Grenik Mirzoyan (born in 1998, has been in the armed forces since 2018, from Syunik) was successfully rescued from under the snow. The rescued soldier sustained minor injuries, and his health condition is assessed as satisfactory.

An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
