Shooting in Lori Province: Victims and Injuries Reported

Today, gunfire was reported in Lori Province. According to shamshyan.com, around 6:30 PM, the Vanadzor Medical Center alerted the police department in the Bazum neighborhood of Vanadzor about four citizens being transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds, two of whom did not regain consciousness and passed away on the way.

The operational group of the Lori regional police department arrived at the hospital, as did the operational group from the Bazum police department. A group from the Lori regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee also arrived on the scene.

It has been determined that the mentioned individuals were brought to the hospital from the Bazum neighborhood, where a VAZ-2121 vehicle with the license plate 33 TO 356 was found completely burned. An automatic weapon was discovered inside the vehicle. The fire that erupted from the vehicle was extinguished by a team from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s rescue service in the Lori region, with one operational unit.

There are suspicions that the burned ‘Niva’ vehicle is connected to the incident. A criminal case has been initiated at the Lori regional investigative department under Article 34-104, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, as well as Article 104, part 1, and Article 235, part 1. The police and investigative department are identifying the deceased and injured individuals.

Those gathered at the scene claim that the gunfire and murders are connected to another homicide that occurred years ago in Spitak. This theory is also being investigated.

Considering the degree of danger posed by the crime, the prosecutor of Lori Province has also arrived at the scene.
