Thai Soldier Kills 12 People and Takes 16 Hostages
A soldier opened fire on people in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The soldier's name is Chakrapant Thoma, and he is currently inside one of the local shopping centers. He has taken 16 people hostage. Initially, he killed his commander and two others at a military camp before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
He then opened fire on shoppers at the local mall. The incident was broadcast live on his Facebook page, which has since been disabled. Thai police forces have surrounded the shopping center.
Thailand's Prime Minister has instructed law enforcement to arrest the perpetrator at all costs in the coming hours. Shortly after, reports emerged that 15 people have died, and there are 20 hostages. Efforts are underway to evacuate the injured from the building.
