Strong Winds Cause Destruction in Dilijan: Trees and Power Poles Downed
On February 6, an extraordinary event occurred in the Tavush province. Starting from 7:30 PM, several emergency incidents took place in the city of Dilijan due to strong winds. According to shamshyan.com, several large trees were broken, power poles were toppled, and roofing materials were ripped off buildings and thrown around.
The wind wreaked havoc, breaking numerous thick and large fir trees, among other types, and as a result of these breakages, power poles were damaged, electric wires were severed, leading to prolonged unexpected power outages in the area.
Several roofs of state institutions in Dilijan were damaged, while approximately 2000 square meters of roofing material was completely torn off and thrown away near the well-known "Univermag" located at 76 Myasnikyan Street, which was built during the Soviet era. As a result, a Mercedes E320 with the license plate 50 CA 707, belonging to a resident of Dilijan, was also damaged.
