Rescuers Extinguish Major Fires
On February 6, at 21:01, the National Center for Crisis Management received a report about a fire in the grass cover between the villages of Mets Ayrym and Pokr Ayrym in the Lori region. A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
On the same day, at 15:03, the National Center for Crisis Management received a report about a fire near one of the houses on 3rd Street in the village of Arevik, Ararat region. A firefighting unit was again dispatched to the scene from the regional rescue department.
It was determined that the fire was burning fodder stacked at the back of a house and dry reeds in the surrounding area. Based on necessity, a water tank from the regional rescue department was also sent to the site. The fire was contained by 15:48 and extinguished by 17:30. A total of 450 hay bales and 2 hectares of reed area were burned.
