Blocked and Impassable Roads in Armenia: Emergency Situations Ministry
As of 17:00 on February 6, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are blocked and impassable roads across Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to all types of vehicles. The following roads are difficult to traverse: the 68-70 km section of the Yerevan-Aparan road, Sotk-Karvachar, Kayk-Vardenis, Sipan-Geghardzor, as well as the roads leading to the villages of Yeghipatrush and Mravyan in the Aragatsotn Province, and roads in the Tsaghkahovit region.
Blizzard conditions are reported in the Amassia region of Shirak Province. There is black ice present in sections of the Kapan-Goris road, as well as on the Saravan-Zanger and Sisian-Zanger segments.
According to information from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles but closed for trucks. The Russian side has reported a backlog of 580 trucks waiting.
