One of the Arrested in Soldier's Death Case is Son of Former MP Araqel Movsisyan (Shmaysi): Davit Tonoyan

There are three individuals arrested in the case of the soldier who died on January 30 in Artsakh, one of whom is the son of former MP Araqel Movsisyan (Shmaysi).

Recently, the parents and relatives of the conscript soldier, Private Vahram Avagyan, who died at the N military unit's training center, organized a protest. They do not believe that their son committed suicide, stating that there is still no forensic examination result, and that authorities are trying to cover up a murder by labeling the incident as suicide. Avagyan's relatives refuse to bury his body until all circumstances surrounding the incident are clarified. They brought the soldier's body to Yerevan.

It is also worth noting that Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan was present at the scene. His meeting with the relatives took place behind closed doors, without representatives of the media.

After the meeting, Minister Tonoyan briefly responded to questions. In response to the question regarding the relatives' disbelief in the suicide theory, Davit Tonoyan stated, "There is no issue of believing or not believing. Until it is proven that there was suicide, no one has the right to comment on it."

When asked what is known about the incident, Minister Tonoyan said that any word he uses will become politicized. "I do not yet have any evidence that it was suicide, and we are halting it, and I have informed the parents about this. No one has the right to claim that it was suicide or the opposite. The circumstances will be clarified. Furthermore, there are three arrested individuals in this case. One of the arrested individuals is the child of the person that is being widely talked about. He is the son of the former MP Araqel Movsisyan (Shmaysi). Regarding the other two, the prosecutor mentioned that they are younger individuals who were fellow servicemen and had some strained relations. What actually happened will be determined within the framework of the criminal case, just as previous criminal cases are being clarified. Everything is being clarified," said Davit Tonoyan.

He also urged to stop live broadcasting.
