EU Announces Opening of Embassy in London

Immediately after the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, the European Union announced the opening of an EU diplomatic mission in London. This was stated in a declaration by Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The embassy will be headed by Portuguese diplomat João Vale de Almeida. In addition to the diplomatic mission, the EU will also ensure that the provisions of the Brexit agreement are adhered to.
