Prosecutor's Office Files 2 More Appeals in Illegal Adoption Case
In the illegal adoption case involving children, the accused Diana Grigoryan will remain free. The prosecutor's appeal to detain her has been rejected by the Court of Appeals.
This was reported by Arevik Khachatryan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office, in response to a query from "Haykakan Zhamanak". The Prosecutor's Office has also appealed the court's decision not to detain another accused, Anush Garsantsyan, but a decision on that matter has yet to be made.
It should be noted that both of the accused were released on bail by the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court. Grigoryan is charged under Article 34-168, Part 2, Point 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (attempting to buy or sell two or more children), while Garsantsyan faces charges under Article 167, Parts 2 and 3 (using her official position to unlawfully separate or transfer a child from their parent, committed by a group of individuals in premeditation).
Three others are also in a status of accused in the criminal case, including Razmik Abrahamyan, the director of the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, and his deputy, Arshak Jerjeryan.
