Candidates in Artsakh Begin Black PR Against Each Other
The newspaper “Past” reports: “Quite interesting developments are occurring in Artsakh, where serious political processes are expected in the spring. In particular, ahead of the start of the electoral process, Alexander Kananyan, a resident of Karvachar, has begun a hunger strike against the construction of new hydroelectric power stations (HEPS) in the region. According to the newspaper’s sources in Artsakh, Kananyan is a member of presidential candidate Masis Mayilyan's political team.
Additionally, besides the hunger strike, various anti-hydropower actions are being initiated in Artsakh these days, which, according to the same sources, aim to create public discontent against another major presidential candidate, former Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan. He is considered one of the main advocates for the sector's development, and some hydroelectric stations are indeed associated with his name. Essentially, it turns out that even before the official campaign has started, the candidates have begun black PR against each other.” More details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
