United Kingdom on the Work of the Armenian Government

The United Kingdom welcomes Armenia's positive progress and the government's commitment to extensive reforms. According to a statement from the UK government reported by Armenpress,

“In particular, we acknowledge the elections held in December 2018. We also welcome Armenia's successes in promoting media freedom. The UK commends the reform process of legislative initiatives aimed at ensuring gender equality and combating violence against women,” the statement reads.

The UK has suggested that Armenia ratify the Convention on the Elimination of Forced Labour, adopt an open process for selecting national candidates in UN treaty bodies, and participate in international efforts to create a safe environment for journalists.
